WHAT IS DOUBLE STICK TRAINING?

Double Stick is one of the 12 Sub-Systems in Filipino Martial Arts also known as Kali, Eskrima or Arnis. It is beautiful, deadly, and highly beneficial to all your training.

How will the double stick training curriculum benefit me?

Our curriculum is organized into sets of movements that are similar to each other. This is known as "Motion Grouping." Training with this approach gives you a better understanding of both the techniques as well as your body mechanics. You will immediately find your eye-hand coordination speed up as you work through our many "Sinawali" or Weaving Patterns in our Specialty Curriculum. This will enhance your hand speed which in turn will also help you hit harder both with or without the weapon. Developing power will be the gateway in both building your grip strength and endurance. The more you train with this format, you will see a serious development in your muscle tone as well as quicker brain function. Studies have shown that learning Double Stick builds new pathways for the brain faster than other activities. This will help with memory and motor skills as well as keep you more alert and aware of both hands and multiple opponents in a self-defense scenario.

How does this program work?

If you are new to Double Stick Training, you have the ability to start from the beginning and build up with easy to follow fundamentals that get you capable and hungry for more.  If you are an experienced Double Stick practitioner, you will also enjoy not only the classic movements, but also unique flows specific to our style, as well as in-depth training on fresh material not shown in many circles. All drills can be done with or without a partner, and with minimal to no equipment, which makes the program work anywhere and for anyone.  Best of all, this curriculum will continue to grow over the months and years to come with more drills and flows to keep you progressing no matter what level or where you are at.
